The Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy is a non-profit corporation, exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. According, gifts to the Institute are tax-deductible. If you would like to benefit the Institute at the time of your death, you can do so by making a bequest in your estate plan - your will or your trust. Bequests are revocable during your lifetime, thereby allowing you to maintain control of your assets throughout your life.
If you would like to benefit the Institute by bequest, you should discuss your wishes with your estate planning attorney. The following language can be used to establish a bequest:
"I give ______________(specify specific amount or percent of estate) to the Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy, a California nonprofit corporation, currently located at 555 Fifth Street, Suite 300A, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 (Tax ID 68-0440384), to be used to support the general purpose of the Institute.”
